About the Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer Job

Tueo Health is looking for an expert data scientist to help us detect patterns and extract insights from our first-of-its-kind asthma patient symptom dataset.  The position involves analyzing patient physiologic data, patient-localized environmental data, self-reported symptoms, and asthma exacerbation event data to enhance and develop new algorithms that will enable our users to better manage their asthma. We have millions of data points coming in every day, so there’s a rich and growing potential to shape the way we understand and manage asthma and this role is at the heart of that.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Building new algorithms and model training
  • Develop signal processing software
  • Identifying data patterns and trends
  • Implementing processes that improve and lead to greater data quality
  • Participating in software-focused marketing efforts
  • Managing analytics database
  • Conducting statistical analyses to develop strategies
  • Documenting all processes and research
  • Analyzing data to develop predictive models
  • Creating, managing, and maintaining analytically rigorous data
  • Noting anomaly detection and running diagnostics
  • Performing graphical model analysis

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related field; Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
  • Four years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong familiarity and hands-on experience with SQL and statistical software packages (Python, Pandas, R, SAS)
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the tools and techniques of machine learning
  • Expert in relational database design and concepts
  • Expert in one or more programming languages (Python a must)
  • Knowledge of Matlab, C/C++, Node.js, Swift, Objective-C, or Java a plus.
  • Experienced in data analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques
  • Experienced with SQL Server.   Knowledge of InfluxDB or another time series database a plus.
  • Experience in genetic algorithms, logistic and linear regression, PCA, decision tree analysis and statistical methods
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment
